Odoo Custom Development

When standard Odoo isn't quite enough,
we build it right.

When Odoo's standard features aren't enough, we build custom solutions
that work today and stay reliable through future upgrades.

Why It's Worth Getting Right

Bad custom code doesn't fail today. It fails on your next upgrade.

The most common way we see Odoo systems break isn't from bugs on day one — it's from customizations that were bolted on without thinking about what happens when Odoo itself changes. A module that overrides core behavior instead of extending it. A quick script that nobody documented. A shortcut that worked, until it didn't.

We've inherited enough of these systems to know exactly what to avoid. Every customization we build follows Odoo's own development standards, so it keeps working as your system grows and upgrades over time.

What "built right" looks like

✔ Extends standard Odoo instead of overriding it

✔ Documented, so it's not a mystery to the next developer

✔ Tested against real workflows, not just a demo

✔ Written to survive version upgrades

✔ Reviewed for performance, not just functionality

Why It Matters Who Builds It

Custom code is easy to write. It's harder to write well.

Services Built by an experienced partner Built without that experience
Cost over time Efficient - built once, works long-term Cheap upfront, expensive to fix later
Core functionality Extends standard Odoo cleanly Risks breaking default behavior
Technical depth Understands both the code and the business process May understand one but not the other
Coding standards Follows Odoo's own development guidelines May deviate, causing hidden issues
Maintenance Easy to update and hand off later Hard for anyone else to touch safely
Long-term performance Stays stable as your system grows Often degrades or breaks on upgrade
Our Process

How we approach a custom development project

Every project starts with understanding the gap, not writing code.

Requirement gathering

We sit down with your team to understand exactly what's missing and why standard Odoo isn't covering it.

Gap analysis

We compare what Odoo already offers against what you actually need, so we're only building what's truly missing.

Feasibility check

We confirm the customization can be built without compromising performance or standard functionality.

Scope and estimate

You get a clear cost and timeline before any development starts — no open-ended billing.

Development

Built to Odoo's own coding standards, so it behaves like it belongs in the system, not bolted onto it.

Testing

Unit and integration testing to confirm it works correctly, including how it interacts with the rest of your setup.

Delivery

The finished, tested module is delivered along with documentation your team (or ours) can use later.

Your approval

Nothing goes live until you've reviewed it and confirmed it does what you needed.

Any Questions? We got you.

That all are the question of which are often asked by our client when they really want to know about our work and want to know more details about us.

How do I know if I actually need custom development?
If you've configured standard Odoo as far as it can go and you're still working around a gap manually, that's usually the sign. We'll do a gap analysis with you first - sometimes the answer is a configuration change, not custom code at all.
Will custom modules survive future Odoo upgrades?
That's the whole point of building it properly. We write customizations that extend Odoo's standard structure instead of overriding it, which is what makes them survive version upgrades without needing to be rebuilt from scratch.
How long does a typical custom development project take?
It depends entirely on scope - a small workflow tweak might take days, while a deeper integration or new module can take weeks. You'll get a clear estimate after the feasibility check, before any development begins.
Do you only build new features, or can you fix existing custom code?
Both. A good amount of our custom development work is actually rebuilding or stabilizing code someone else wrote - code that's causing crashes, blocking upgrades, or just quietly slowing the system down.
What programming language is used?
Odoo itself is built in Python, and that's what we use for custom development - along with Odoo's own framework conventions, so the code behaves consistently with the rest of the platform.
Can you build integrations with other software we use?
Yes. Custom development often includes connecting Odoo to other tools - payment providers, shipping carriers, industry-specific software - so your systems talk to each other instead of requiring manual double entry.
